Where the internet feels human again
Here is a heavenly gift on this Holy Saturday. It comes from Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori:
“The great love of Mary deserves our gratitude, and that gratitude should at least consist in meditating upon and having compassion for her sorrows. Yet she complained of this to Saint Bridget, that very few had compassion for her, and that most lived forgetful of them; therefore she strongly recommended to the saint to keep memory of her sorrows:
‘I look upon how many there are in the world to see if there are any who are moved to compassion for me and who meditate upon my sorrow, but I find very few. Therefore, my daughter, though I am forgotten by many, do not you forget me; contemplate my sorrow and imitate me as much as you can, and suffer with me.’
Let us not be those ungrateful and unloving children!”
